Originally from Long Island NY, Dr. Courtney spent much of her childhood in Cooperstown, where her mother’s family is from. With a mother who was a vet tech, Dr. Courtney has been passionate about animal medicine her entire life, and took opportunities to work at both veterinary practices and a local aquarium while in high school. She attended Cornell University, where she received both her Bachelor’s in Animal Science, as well as her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Courtney has practiced for over 12 years and enjoys the challenge of providing for the needs of her patients and helping clients give healthy loving care for their pets. She has had the opportunity to work in large animal medicine, and is currently focused on small animal medicine. Her specialty interests are in behavior medicine, nutrition, exotic animal medicine, and preventative care.
Dr. Courtney has been living full time in Cooperstown for 7 years and plans on spending her life here. She and her husband live with their two young children, a senior Labrador, and three cats. In her free time, she enjoys attempting bee keeping, gardening, and baking.
